Lunar New Year events are well in progress in China and around the globe, and now Pokémon Go gamers can participate in the celebrations too.
The Year of the Pet occasion started the other day and will run till 1pm PST on February 17 th. As you may anticipate from the style, this year’s in-game event is everything about those canine pocket beasts.
While the event is live, all trainers that catch a dog-like Pokémon will receive bonus Stardust.
The quartet of pups is made up of Growlithe, Poochyena, Snubbull, Electrike, and (the best of the bunch) Eevee.
To be honest, it’s a bit of a shame that developer Niantic hasn’t fully committed to the theme and brought back the Legendary dog trio to Raids. It’s also a bit odd that the adorably mean-looking Houndour isn’t involved in the event’s bonus list.

It’s not all bad, however, as fitness instructors are reporting that ‘glossy’ Poochyena are now appearing in the wild. For those that have no idea, glossy Pokémon are basically typical animals with color scheme swaps that are exceptionally unusual. In Nintendo’s complete computer game series, a glossy Poochyena has a gold shine instead of its normal gray fur.
Will you be out searching for Poké-hounds this weekend? Let us understand in the remarks.
